Changing water for Babies

I have researched on the net and found I am supposed to change water for new babies.
I have about 38 Swordtails (born 3-1-05) in the 40 gal tank and 6 guppies (born 3-2-05) in the 10 gal. Both groups in breeding nets.
What's the rationale behind changing water every day for babies?
I sure am willing to do so, but was simply wondering why. :huh:

Fry are delicate. Keeping their water clean helps them live longer and healthier lives.
My Betta fry get their water changed every day. I change 80-90% of it every single day.
I do it to clean uneaten food off the bottom, and waste from the fry. That many babies can create a lot of waste.
Is there a filter in the tanks?
You just need to be careful you don't suck up any fry, and if you do you need to place them back in the tank very carefully so you don't do any damage to their bodies/fins.

Good water quality increases growth. Waste and hormones in the water can retard growth, particularly in the early stages of growth.
