If you need to touch up your tank last minute and don't have time to run to the store to pick up some windex. Or you just feel like being adventurous I've got something for you...

Get out your Test Kit...

1/2 cup ammonia...(or a few drops of NH3 from your test kit)
1 pint rubbing alcohol...(or a few drops of KH from your test kit)
1 teaspoon Joy dish washing soap...(go easy on the soap)
enough water , to make a gallon

This recipe can be horribly off and still work. For instance I filled a water bottle about 1/5 of the way full for my water...Plus a few drops from the test kit and bam my glass is clean!

Have fun!

Meh, to prevent possibly contaminating my tank (accidents happen) and unecessary odors, I prefer using a microfiber towel with some plain old water. Microfiber towels are great and can be used to clean almost anything, plus you can find them anywhere and they are super cheap. If you don't even feel like buying towels, newspaper and water works pretty well too, lol.

Its probably safe to say that glass cleaner will be more commonly found in homes than ammonia or rubbing alcohal.

...newspaper....

coffee filters...

and witht he price of test kits, I'll spend the buck for some store brand cleaner...
