You could go buy one 2"X3"X8' at Lowes for $1.50 cut and crew ($3) it together on its flat sides into a rectangular frame frame, then lay the fixture on top making sure both the aquarium and fixture have enough wood overhang to support both, then if you like you can silicone a very thin (1/8") and cheap piece piece ($4) of Acrylic onto the bottom perimeter of the wood and it will not sag and it will protect the wood without water proofing if the sheet is siliconed to bottom of the wood "edge to edge" and the wood frame extends a little beyond 2" the aquarium. If fact you should have enough wood left over to include a boxed rim around the aquarium also attached to the flat section of wood frame so that it cannot be accidentally knocked off but set on top like a cardboard box lid. Using a pint of mineral based (not latex) 1 step polyurethane & stain ($4) before siliconing in your thin acrylic sheet will make the top much more durable and attractive.
This is ice cream stick style carpentry but it will be easy to assemble, light weight, and look unimposing yet attractive.
