Cheapest store to get 10g tank only

They are about $15. At walmart they have a 10g starter kit for $35-$40 with a hood and filter.

I've noticed that the walmarts here tend to keep low stock on bare 10 g tanks. If I do see them at walmart, I only see one, maybe two, on the shelves at a time.

Yeah, both Petsmart and Petco are right around $15 for barebones 10g tanks. I'm sure the price varies slightly by location as well, so that's about the best estimate we can give for those stores in particular. As for the kits that include hoods, you're looking at at least double that.

If you have one in your area then check out Petland Discounts. I'm not sure what just the tank costs, but I was just in there today and a starter kit (tank, gravel, air filter) is $16.88. If you want with the hood it's $30 total.
