Check valve Q

I have a pressurized CO2 cylinder, the regulator, the solenoid, the needle valve, check valve, bubble counter, and then at the end of the line another check valve before it goes into the reactor. My problem is that whenever the gas goes off, the water from the bubble counter backs into the needle valve (through the check valve). Yes it is on right and I even changed it out to a new one. I am afraid to turn off the gas because of the water backing up. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Skitty, I'll repeat my original "idea". Get rid of the solenoid(that may go ca-bluey on you) and let the CO2 run 24/7 and you won't have this problem.

Oh puleeze! I bought it, I'm gonna use it.

My pH drops too low if I leave it on constantly. I would have to add an air stone, and my husband can't stand the sound of the air pumps running. The tank is right next to the t.v and HIS chair, so if it starts bothering him he just turns it off. This is the main reason I have a canister filter.

I'd personally try another check valve between the bubble counter and the needle valve.

Nothing will happen if the water backs up to the selonide valve. there is no electric conection in the valve it self, there is a electric magnet that is the acuater that opens the valve, the valve body is totaly sepreat. Try and put a Second Check valve in the line and see if that works.

Thanks, I guess I will as soon as the LFS gets more in.

At the moment I don't have my Solenoid connected. I leave the CO2 on and put my Duetto at the water line, it comes on when the lights go out in order to break the water surface up. At least it is silent and it does the jub. Just doesn't look too pretty.
