My tank has been cycling for 2 days now, and out of curiosity I decided to test the chemical levels. The pamplet that came with the kit isnt real specific on what the levels should be. Can someone tell me if these levels are normal or high!

pH: 8.0
No2: 0
No3: 5.0
Ammonia: between 0 and .25

thanks.

Look good. What type of test are you using? When Ammonia and Nitrite are stable at zero, you should be good to go. Add slowly though so the bacteria can keep up. What type of fish are you going to keep?

I am using a API test kit. I haven't fully decided on what fish to keep yet. I want something with color that working well in a community tank. any ideas?

What interests you the most? Lots of movement and variety or a few big fish? Or a combination? Tons of options. You're Ph looks well suited to Cichlids (which I know just about zip about).

i was thinking about some yellow lab cichlids and some clown loaches.

I don't know about the labs, but that tank will be far too small for a proper group of clown loaches.
