I've never had cherry barbs, but I've had goldies and neon roseys, and they didn't bother the shrimp. Neon roseys will eat anything, but they showed no interest.

I have 6 cherry barbs with neon tetras, black neon tetras and they only pick on each other and leave everyone else alone. After having them for a month, I am starting to prefer them to my neons.
