I came across these guys at the LFS and thought they were pretty cool. I have a 55 community tank and thought about adding 1 or two of them = cherry fire shrimp (Caridina serrata) Was wondering if anyone had any experience with them. If so what ever info you could provide about their eating and behavior would be apreciated.

small scavangers look in this section for more on cherry shrimp from other users. Some have alot of experience with them. theyre new to me. small like ghost shrimp kind of

Cherry shrimp are algae eaters more so than scavengers. They are IMO and IME the best of the algea eating shrimp. they feed on multile varieties of algae, and are very active. Additionally they are about the easiest shrimp I've had to keep and raise, and they breed constantly in freshwater tanks. The only downside IMHO is that they are very small and will be lunch with many fish that would not eat the large amano's or ghost shrimp.
