Cherry Shrimp...how many?

Keep an eye on your nitrates and keep up with regular water changes and you should be fine. I haven't experienced my shrimp eating themselves to death, but poor water quality will definitely do them in.

From your description you're not feeding them anywhere near too much.

^_^ thank you, the tank gets 40% water changes every 2-3 days..im super paranoid about losing these guys and i figure water changes cant hurt!

.....i never thought a tank with tiny shrimp, worms and snails could be so amusing.

Every one seems to be doing good so far no losses (that i can tell)...grow babies grow!!!!!

gah first an addiction to snails...now shrimp..and my cray.:nilly:..THE INVERTS ARE INVADING MY TANKS!!!!

AAAAHHH!!!!!!!!

eating themselves to death, eh... I guess that would explain my shrimp deaths. (my sis is a HUGE fan of overfeeding -_-)

in fact, I think I lost the whole tank thanks to her :P

iv yet to see them eat them selves to death...^_^ but i now have 2 females i can see with eggs!!!! ssoooo happy !^_^

i feed mine 2 or 3 times a week...they love green beans and zucchini and spinach, as well as the sinking pellets i feed the glass cat , ottos and black worms in the tank.

i do a 25-50% water changes 2 times a week.

cant wait for babies!!!

i think technically my tank is over stocked...but its so thickly planted i have had no problems what so ever with my water changes.

i have 1 glass cat
3 ottos
15 cherries

in a 3 gallon hex with 5 gallons of filtration.

..tough soon as i can weed them out of the plants ill be removing the ottos to make room for baby shrimp.

so little update with out pics..upgraded them to half a 10 gallon!..it has a divider in it..and my marbled cray shares the other half mostly to keep her from eating my plants..the shrimp hang out on both sides^_^ ill get pics soon...and and and !!!!!!!!! i found my first babies! im so excited they so soooo tiny^_^.

Congrats! :thm:

wow, nice tank! it looks like the perfect shrimp tank to me!

yeah they seem to love it..babies are popping up everywhere..they seem to love hanging out on the marbled cray side..you can see a few on the sponge filter. but they go back and forth all the time.^_^..the divider is mostly to keep the cray from noming the plants.

they seem much happier now in the larger tank, though my balder snails have exploded and the black worms i keep in the sand seem to be growing in numbers as well until they make it to the other side and the cray gets em..im really starting to like how this tank is turning out. At first i was afraid the cray would eat the rcs..but no all is happy!!

...now to keep the cray from shredding the sponge i have on the filter *sigh*
