Cherry Shrimp Tankmates

Hmm maybe I'm being a little paranoid about loosing all my shrimp. I know that eventually the cherry shrimp will over run my 5 gallon if I don't keep a fish with them lol. So I guess a better question is what can live in a 5 gallon? And hopefully eat these little worms and seed shrimp I have lol.

I've kept guppies in a 5 gallon, just don't go more than 2 or 3 and don't mix the sexes! Guaranteed to eat baby shrimp :D

I have the same experience as Wycco, my shrimp population in the community tank grows fairly slowly so I probably lose some of the little ones, but enough survive to keep things going. But my shrimps living with just boraras reproduce quite lott. Boraras are pretty but tiny, I don't think they can eat even the smallest shrimp. My only problem was a female betta, she was a terror to the shrimps and had to be moved.

I spent this morning doing research on dwarf Crays, specifically CPOs. I decided that this is the direction I will most likely go. That way I can keep the tank and Invert tank yet still have something unusual.

So I took a badly behaved OB zebra cichlid to the LFS today and checked out some of the stuff they had. I look in their shrimp tank and see a CPO staring back at me! I inquired about the water they've been kept in and how they've been doing. The guy said they had been selling very quickly and seemed to get along with everything in the tank. I ended up coming home with one of these cute little guys :)

Pictures will be coming soon. Of course it may be a while. The first thing he did once he got in the tank was go hide under the driftwood.

So are there no shrimp species that can live with cherry shrimp happily?

Sure, I keep RCS in the same tank as my CRS without any problems.
I also keep Pearl Blue shrimp with Black CRS and I keep Yellow shrimp with
Tiger shrimp.

So far no problems with water and different PH and temp preferences.

Never knew CPOs actually can be found in LFS. I kinda wanna get one right now and put it in my community tank. How big is it?

Most "nano-fish" under abotu 1.5-2" won't bother adults but may nibble at shrimplettes. Some of the fish I can think about are Dwarf Pencilfish, Pygmy Cories, Ember Tetras, Endlers, Celestial Pearl Danios and small species of fish. My Peacock Gudgeons don't bother my adult cherries, but they've eaten away all the baby ones.
