iamgroovy, that scenario happens all the time. I get emails/pms asking what happened to the shrimp and then a couple weeks later they're all over the place!

dixienut, yes, they become sexually mature before reaching their full size. Like humans...and many other species that come to mind.

had mine 15 days so far and boy did they red up... almost burns your eyeballs.. question? it looks like i have a female thats berried up do they breed at 2 or 2 1/2 cm ?

Yes, they do just about burn the eyeballs! Especially since I swapped the bulbs in my hood for better ones (meant for plants but also enhance color).

I also noticed that one has a stripe down her back but the other two are solid red. I am so glad I got them. I just love to watch them swim! I got worried when they got too close to the filter intake but it didn't seem to faze them.

Definitely worth having and I've never seem them in our lfs either. For that matter, they rarely have anything interesting...Thank God for AC and aquabid!!

A couple of my females are looking rather "berried up" as well. What is thier reproduction cycle?

Do cherry shrimp live longer then Ghost Shrimp? Everytime I get Ghost shrimp they flake away and die within two months or less.

do you have any shrimp in stock?

also:

are they compatible with platies and zebra danios?

pm me if you have any in stock. thanks :)

My order of RCS came in just fine. They were a little smaller than I expected (around half an inch) but that's not a huge issue. I haven't seen them much yet, but presumably they'll become more bold once they get a little larger. I have a piece of driftwood in my tank that I'm pretty sure is holding all of my shrimp except for a few ghosts that are hiding in the java moss.

Good experience

I ordered two shrimp, got 5or6 (three 1/4-1/2inch and 2-3 very small). Quick delivery and good response time to PM's. Shrimp came with a sprig of java moss and were instantly active.

Got em!

I just got mine Wednesday at 4pm, sent Monday from NY. All alive with a few extras, some java moss, and they began 'coloring-up' the instant I added them to my tank! Great deal and great shipping! Fun to watch! Thanks!!!!!!

:welcome:

Mine continue to do very well! I just love them. I just finished cycling (fishless of course) a 10gal tank at work and it's currently very lightly stocked. Would they do well in such a new tank or do they do better in a more mature tank?
