Ok I was contemplating between turning my ten gallon into a planted cherry shrimp tank, or a fry tank. But them I was wondering if I could have both, or if hte shrimp would eat the fry. Any ideas?

so the shrimp wont eat the fry? are there any other inverts that could go in?
oh and how many shrimp?

the shrimp MAY eat the fry, but the chaces are low.

you could have snails and shrimp in there, about 10 shrimp is enough IMO.

DONT put crabs though. they will eat your fry every oppourtunity they can get. Shrimp will more or less leave things alone.

The shrimp will not touch the fry, and you could keep way more than 10 in a 10gal tank. I've had over 50 in a 5.5gal with no problems before.

thanks

haha my friend is fasinated with this forum...its really weird

hey, i've heard stories of them attacking fry. just telling her to keep an eye out sinbce it's happened before.

I prefer to give them more space. I don't like cramming animals all together, and she is going to have more than just shrimp. it's going to be a growout of swordtails, who are high waste fish.
