I used to play. Much like sploke I know how the pieces move but never really got into it. I guy I work with used to play correspondence chess. Each player has a board set up at home and they mail in a move to their opponent. The opponent then has X number of days to study the board and make a move. The opponent then mails this move to his adversary. Games can take years.
