What do you need to know? Pricing? Effectiveness? Picking a size? Determining if one is needed?

Hey Aquadic,

Got your message. What kind of chiller do you have and what problems are you having?
I got here my improvise chiller. Temperature wont drop down at least 5 degrees. I know that it shud be 70 to 80F of saltwater. Mine is 82F. My corals dies each day. How can i improve it? It has submersible copper layed on the subtank for it to cool down. My compressor i bought was 1/8 hp. I cant able to buy chiller it so expensive.
Thank yu very much for the concern.
P.S. To anyone read my message pls. HELP ME.
thanks

82 isn't that high--my reef used to get up to 85 on a regular basis without impacting the corals at all.

The copper is just wrapped around the outside of the sump? What temp water is going through it, and how fast?

mine too. 79-82 is where i like to keep my reef tanks. 80 for me is perfect. how big is your tank? does it have a canopy? what kind of lights? i bought 4 computer variable cooler fans with a temp probe for $50 including the transformers and pugs. for my canopy, then got a 10000 btu air conditioner window mount, for i think it was $160 at sears. keeps the tank nice and cool. as a bounus keeps me nice and cool too. could have use a 5000BTU one but the 10000BTU does not have to work hard to keep it nice.
