Chinese algae eater attacking! Well trying

I had a cae...Loved him he was great to watch...had him with my discus...bad move.. Moved him to my red peacock tank then needed to make room. Friend of mine now has him, told me today he is chasing her african cichlids...should she get rid of him

Yes.

Just gonna give my two cents on this one. I am not experienced and have never had one of these fish, but I did read somewhere that these fish stop eating algae as they mature. Not only that, they are horrible tankmates, can be very aggressive towards not only other algae eaters but other species as well. Recommendation was to not get one of these fish, as they provide no benefits. Strike me down and slap me silly if I got this information incorrect.

I'd say it's pretty spot-on. Maybe have a species-only tank with them . . .

yup, CAE are considered semi-aggressive because they tend to just beat other fish up by tearing their fins or sucking scales off. i saw a tank full of goldfish get beat up by them...

i have one, who is pretty huge, but he just lives with my turtle and they leave eachother alone, thankfully.

Very true.:) Juveniles do eat algae but this habit fades out as they mature.
