Chloramine poisoning?

Ok after research this evening I am a bit disturbed to see a basic interaction flaw I missed with ph - kh and gh. Will start another thread for answers once I investigate more. Want to attempt to understand without adding not needed threads or mis information.
I obviously found that using low and high end ph tests by api can be hard to interpret as colors tend to blend alot in the mid 7's...I can see I could think I was at 7.2 on one but closer to 7.6 on the other. And also have seen after a day with co2 and lights on my kh drops with my ph.

Am thinking my deaths are becomming a ph shock thing which explains the suddeness a little.

Again I so appreciate all the input. I have attempted to grasp the concepts and just when I think I have got it I see I am only starting. My fish truly thank each of you for taking the time to attempt to educate me.

post your ph gh kh thread in the plant section, they know a lot about that and you can probably get answers faster.

Adding CO2 will lower the PH. The fish should be able to handle that fine, Even the daily fluctuations. Just make sure they are not dramatic. KH solutions need to be shaken vigorously or they are not reliable. You have to be careful with those tests. Again minor variations are not all that important.

I still suspect that the large bioload you added all at once is more the problem and things are still a little out of whack. Give it time. Cut down the feeding. The fish just don’t need it. I never feed my fish everyday. If I go away for a week I don’t feed them at all. They are fine. All the extra food is just making more problems.

The daily pH swing from CO2 is not important here. Are your fish at the surface in the morning before the lights come on? With pressurized sometimes you need to run an airstone to keep oxygen levels up at night.

So far I have lost 2 black neons, 5 green neons and 3 corys in last 2 weeks.

The surviving fish are:
4 otocinclus nigers - 3 pitbull plecos - 6 black neons - 5 green neon - 1 angel - 2 corydoras punctatus - 5 gold clown barbs

If I read correctly, you stocked ~36 fish within a month. I am not saying you're overstocked or anything like that. I am just wondering if you checked all of your water parameters throughout the month to make sure there were no ammonia spikes or anything like that? Perhaps do 2 water changes a week? Although your levels look pretty decent currently.

You may be on to something with the pH. I always thought most fish could handle a slight fluctuation.

I'm very sorry for your loss. :(

I did stock with alot but that was the purpose of doing a fishless cycle...to be able to fully stock upon completion.
But to answer your question, Yes I watch my parameters more then one would consider anal. I checked the first two weeks daily sometimes twice - morning and night.....and the last two weeks a couple times a week. Never a slight spike in either ammonia or nitrite.
To answer other question....no, fish are never gulping at top....one death I witnessed, one was gulping but he was at deaths door. I had to destroy him as I hated to see him suffer, his eyes were bulging and seemed to be listless.

Thank you for the condolences....it has been two days now no new deaths...will just see what happens...have been told by more then a few it isnt likely ph so I will just slow way down on feeding for a bit and see if that helps. I was feeding daily (not alot, all was being eaten within 5 minutes but perhaps they were just gluttons) but every other day or so for awhile and see how things progress.
