but I really think you are comparing apple to oranges.

IMO a big well made canister like a Rena is no comparison to something like a Whisper hang on tank with a little cartridge...

the rena is vastly better, but it is also two to three times the price of the others listed too..

I have had no problems with my RENAs... 2 XP2s and 1 XP3. They are quiet and effective. I also have an AC110... can never have too much filter right?

No experience with Eheim...

You know, I'm sure the C series is cool because Marineland's filters are soo friggin' unbelievably reliable (with the exception of Penguins, they're only ok), but they seem very expensive compared to other brands. I'd like to hear some experiences with the C series, but I haven't heard of anyone that has one yet, or at least they haven't spoken up! Also, I wonder what is supposed to make them better than the Magnum canisters that would account for the huge price difference. The Magnums aren't my favorite, but IMO they are VERY reasonably priced.

yea, i thought so too when i first saw them. their prices are destined to dip as Marineland makes more of them and they become more widley available. soon there will be more products than buyers and the price will fall, and then people will go crazy for them, and then the supply will be low, and the price will rise, etc. it also has to do with this is a totally new filter, and totally new items usually cost a bit more.
