choose my fish for me

i have a male betta, a female swordtail, and two platys.

i don't really like angelfish, and people keep teling me that is best to have in our tank.

are plecos ok with most any fish i would be getting for a freshwater aquarium?

so tiger barbs are a no-no?

I would say to get rid of your fish except the betta which is relatively easy to house and get the cilchids you want....You will be happy to get rid of them trust me.

get rid of them by trading them into your local fish store.

there is no need to trade in your fish if you are going to stay to small cichlids.

you could easily put some rams in with your fish.

Yeah, for the most part a pair of rams or a pair of african butterfly cichlids would be fine in the tank with community type fish. Unless of course they spawn in your tank and your other fish are tempted to get near the eggs.
