choosing a main fish..

I recently just posted for help on schooling fish..but now i would want a peaceful main fish thats entertaining to watch. something that will not bother the other fishes nor shrimps. any suggestions?

What else is in the tank and how big is it? That will help.

Centerpiece fish: Angels, Gouramis, cichlids...what are you interested in?

its a 20gal long. lightly planted..im thinking about having 6 rummynose tetras ,10 cardinal tetras,a few shrimps (cherries or amano), 2 plecos.
i want something active and colorful. and would not harass the other fishes nor the shrimps.

wait a sec.

thet would be to much for a 20 gallon long. pick either rummynoses or cardinals and get either 8 rummynoses or 10 cardinals. adding two plecos would be way to much for the tank. what kind of plecos were you thinking about getting?

still, stick with one type of schooling fish. otos would be fine.

a dwarf gourami will make a nice centerpiece

When I look for a centerpiece type fish, I wait for a certain fish that I really like or have it special ordered. If your centerpiece fish to be in every major aquarium shop in the world, than go for it. I like oddballs, if I wanted to look at a dwarf gouramis and neons, I can go to the LFS.

Man, that sounded like bigtime fish snob.. haha

Not really, I just like to have fish that aren't in most LFS.

a good centerpiece would be a dwarf cichlid like the Curviceps. They are peaceful and small.
