The head unit has a different firmware version number than the modules at the moment. The head unit is currently 1.03 and the modules are at least 1.11 (depending on the module).

The insert did say "All modules included in the box are equipped with firmware 1.11+." I interpreted this as all contents, including the Head Unit.

You're welcome! I was a little confused at first when I read that insert as well upon taking mine out of the box. Once I realized they specifically define the head unit as something different than the modules, it certainly made more sense. Of course, I had to visit their website and see that thread before I really understood.
