If you really plan to stick with those 5 fish, then 5-6 chromis should be ok in a 90 gallon.

The inches of fish rule does not apply as it all depends on the types of fish required.

Niko ;)

if it was your reef tank how many green chromis would you reccomend. i notice Uscalvary has 8 in his 55g. i have a ninety and would like nearly eight

Yeah i would stick with about 5 to 6 chromises. eight will be a little too many.
I have seen some pretty big ones at my lfs so you are better off with 5 to 6. also you should stock your tank in this order: goby, yellow tang, the two perculas (at the same time), and finally the six line wrasse. The clowns are actually really evil!!! The websites may claim that they are peaceful, but since they are related to damsels, they are very territorail. trust me I kept one and it kept on biting my hand during water changes. It actually kind of hurts!

how many should i buy because i noticed that my lfs has them in stock

i would go for 5 at least......i had 3 and the biggest one killed the other 2 over about 6 months.....it will hopefully spread the aggression out.
