hey everyone i finally got them successfully to breed they laid eggs but ate them but thats ok cuz it looks like they are at it again. i have three of them in the tank right now should i remove the one female thats getting picked on a little bit or should i keep it in there? also what should i do the next time they lay eggs, should i seperate the eggs from the parents so they can hatch without gettin eatin?
any advise would be very helpful
thanks alot
kurt

I would advise against removing eggs from Cichlid parents...the other fish may serve as a valuable target...got any other fish to strengthen the pair bond instead?

umm theres a gold fish im tryin to feed my fish in my bigger tank but last time i had it in there i seen it pushin up against the nics side like it was tryin to bite it and then i really dont have anything else to give to them for target. i have some spare change so what do you think i should go pick up for a target fish
and we got to keep in mind that this is a 20 - 25 gallon fish tank. the breeder i got them from said that would be fine seein thats what the 8 inch parents were in
so i prefer buyin a fish instead of puttin the gold fish in there so what kind of fish should i get

Let's see...a 25g for breeding Nics? I don't think that it's big enough for them and for the third one. I would get the third one out of the tank, and I would think about a larger tank or a divider in this one before I started thinking about target fish.

well i kno that the parents of them bred in a small tank so they should be ok. so then should i just take out the other female and then just get no target fish in there
