cichlid compatability?

Cons are really like that with breeding? I guess if I were to try a simular setup I'd have to forgo the convict.
I'd rather avoid the convicts than to keep them. Not going to get into another nightmare of them wreaking havoc around as they spawn continuously.

Sounds like it should work. There is always a degree of risk with neo tropical cichlids. Sometimes a combination that should work will not, and combinations that are very risky can do fine. These fish have personalties to some degree and sometimes you get one that simply doesn't get along.

Should work. I don't know about the sevs pairing with the convict, though. I have a male sev and a female convict in my 150 and the he has nothing to do with the convict. Maybe I've just been lucky.

My friends wound up getting the blue acara, rotkiel sev, blue con, firemouth, and blood parrot. All one inch fry. They have them in their 75G for now.

I went today and bought a rotkiel, blue acara, and firemouth. I'm growing them out in a 60g for now. They will end up in my 90g or 125g. Will get pics up in a while when they start looking good.

I may add a blood parrot to mine, too.

I think id stay away from the blood parrot also as they are farmed and dyed to become that strange colour, washing the creatures with dye,s is not on my list of far treatment of any animal. But hey its up to you?

i just dont like that the parrots are home brewed cichlid, and they look ugly imo

They aren't all dyed. People now usually just call them blood parrots regardless of whether they are the blood red color. If the really are the blood red (or various other colors besides the normal orange), then they have been died. If they are just kind of a peach color, that's natural. Either way though, they're still mutts and I'm not a fan.
