cichlid id please

i got this cichlid the other day being told it was an electric blue.. but it dosent look like any of my other electric blues.. anyone know what it may be?

Looks like a female peacock, how big is it?

its about 3 1/2 inches

Yea, at that size I'd expect a juvie male to show some color already, which is why it appears to be a female, and as with most peacock females you might never find out what species it is, because most of them look very similar to each other.

already thanks guys.. well that sucks i dont want that kinda fish in my tank being that i duno what kind it is ,so i dont let them make any mutts

Actually most Peacocks are lined bred meaning most are not natural specimens..

The too late change in color is very interesting; but I still don't think it is an electric blue Ahli.

Yeah efors i agree also the red shoulder is not a trait of the Ahli..
