Cichlid pronounciation question...

We wanted some input on how cichlid should be pronounced. We've been saying it "chee-chlid", and have heard one person that works at our lfs pronounce it that way. But I've heard more people, and one of the other employees at the lfs pronounce them "see-klid". Not that it matters a whole lot, but I figured I'd find out on here a little better. lol

I had a guy from Africa stay at the hotel I worked at, I forget his last name, but well say it was dmbwombi (thats close enough), and I pronounced it right and he nearly flipped from excitement. "You're the first american to get it right"!! Its not that hard, just pronounce all the consonants

when I first heard of them, I called them kichlids. now it's sicklids.
