Cichlid question

Hi i recently purchased a black belt cichlid from my local pet store. i was just wondering a little about this fish such as ideal water temperature? what can it eat? how big does it grow? and any other info would be helpful. thank you.
 
This is a BIIIIIIG fishey. I need to second what tidiote said- your LFS wont warn you if the fish gets to be 12"... so if you see something you like but know little about you need to go home a google, then go back for it if it fits your aquarium. I learned this the hard way purchasing a venestus that ended up getting 7" (max 12")... gave him away to a friend who happened to be breeding them and wanted another female- but its hard to give these big guys new homes.

After checking the page- do you have the set up for him?
