Cichlid will only eat bloodworms

I tried adding garlic juice to the green hakari pellets my oscar would not eat, she could have cared less. I withheld food for two days and then tried again, that heffer got three in her mouth at once and was happily chomping away. No problems since.

Hunger has a lot to do with accepting new types of food...

It is about hunger for most fish. How long has this behavior been going on and how often do you feed it blood worms? I have got fish that will supposedly eat nothing but live food eating flake and pellet since birth. Even wild caught fish I usually don't have a problem with. I just keep feeding flake or golden pearls and they eventually eat. Fish want to survive.

A severum not eating anything but bloodworms sounds odd. My experience is they are pigs at feeding time if healthy. They are susceptible to internal bacterial infections though. I would describe them as HIGHLY susceptible and the behavior sounds more like that. Especially with being thin. What color is severum's waste? Clear and stringy or normal? Does it have a sunken belly or is it just "thin"? There are a lot of internal diseases that cause all all kinds of crazy behaviors.

If its waste is normal and the fish is thin, it very well may be just picky. As the good Dr said above, wait a couple days and feed it something else.
