Cichlid with visible teeth - what could it be?

but I didn't see any mention of their teeth
that's because there's nothing particularly noteworthy about their teeth. it may surprise you to learn that virtually ALL fish have 'teeth' including many species that wouldn't eat another fish if you put it in front of them on a platter. some teeth are just more in evidence than others.

some species use their teeth to tear leaves from submerged vegetation, some teeth are used to rasp algae from rocks (african cichlids), and yes, some are used for predatory purposes.
 
I have a Neolamp. pulcher with what I call fangs. Very noticeable and very aggressive fish.
 
Thanks everyone! I can now rest at night in peace! We used to have two (I presume they were starting to exhibit mating behavior about the time our other fish disappeared and depressions were being made in the substrate). The smaller one died. We only have a 29 gallon tank so looks like we better get a bigger one...tax refund being spent already!
