Cichlids for a 10 gallon

What type of cichlids if any can live in a 10 gallon tank?

I forgot to mention...for 10 gallons I would strongly suggest multies based on space alone. Others would probably be too cramped IMO.

Also, if possible try finding something more towards 15-20 gallons. Shouldnt be that much more money. It will open up a lot more options for you...

German blue rams would do ok in a 10 gallon, but would prefer 20 gallons or more. Some may say that apistogramma would work instead, but I disagree (my female becomes incredibly aggressive toward my male when spawning, and that's in a 55 gallon). Skip Bolivian rams as well, IME they tend to be too aggressive (with conspecifics) and active for a 10 gallon.

I'd go with the 'Lamprologus' multifasciatus or ocellatus in a tank that size.

You can happily keep (and breed) a pair of convicts, hrp's or firemouths in that tank, even as they get to their full adult size.

Really? I had cons and firemouths before. I'll look into HRP's. I also like the shellies too.
