Cichlids for a 20g?

I searched the species database for cichlids that could live in a tank 20g or smaller. The list below is what I've discovered but I wanted to be sure I was correct:

shell dwellers and possibly kribs are really the only african cichlids that will be comfortable in a 20 gallon. mbuna really need a larger tank.

No mbuna or most any malawi for that matter. Rams, kribs, apistos, shelldwellers or julies IMO.

you could also put a rainbow cichlid in there, as they only grow to around 4" or so. note that the flag cichlid, though beautiful, needs space and swimming room. a 29 or 30 long would be ideal for this fish. hope that helps.

While those on the list should be ok, which species are you interested in? what is available around you?

very good choices ! you can have any of them in there - but not all of them , as you know, and not a mix of say any three. I would say you should pick your favourites of those, and then we can talk about how many/male-female mix.
