Are there any cichlid pairs that will happily get along with a few cories in a 10g? Without the cories are there? What are my cichlid options?

yes, quite a few, look for Blue Rams, but i must warn you, they are hard fish to maintain, require water 7.5 at the most but really prefer somewhere between 6.3-7.0, no lower then 6.0. You can also look for dwarf South American cichlids, Lookup the latin name Apistogramma something, few varities of them. I think you will like the loooks of those cichlids, small compact and great colors. Hope this helped. Could you respond back with your tanks pH level and size of the tank?

Blue rams ARE a type of south american cichlid.

OR

you could get some shelldwellers, they would be fine in a 10 gallon, but they need some shells to use as territories, and hide in. Not sure if they get along with cories though

I don't have the tank yet. I'm just so excited so I'm planning ahead. Don't worry, I'll cycle it for a month and test it etc, but I was just wondering for the future. I might just have a platy trio and a dwarf gourami and like 3 cories....but I dunno.

yes I am aware the rams are for SA. I wnet thru 6, i guess the way i typed my reply only sounded like the Apisto's were. But yes I know.

Shellies come from hard alkaline water, cories come from soft acidic water. Completely opposites.
