i want to put electric yellow labs and electric blue acara.
How many could i put in it.
but i also want to put some other species of fish in with the electric yellows and blue acaras.
I would skip the fryeri in a 55, they can get relatively aggressive in a smaller tank, also the females are drab. Try to look for a monomorphic blue mbuna, this way you'll have a better contrast with the labs, where the females will be as blue as males.
There's a high chance of labs and red zebras interbreeding, that's why it's not advisable to keep them together.
Most cyno afras have drabby looking females, though white top hara's females are an exception, they're a blue color with darker bars, and dom males look really good.
I have a bunch of white top haras and they are very nice looking. If you want a nice contrast i suggest demasoni with the labs. They don't get too big and both males and females are beautiful. Demasoni are really aggressive though so you would have to get a large group of them to spread it out. . You could do 12 demasoni and 7 labs.
