ok maybe not the soup..
but i see on aquabid.com that people sell clams..
and i wonder what do clams do in your tank, are they for decor only?

someone fill me in..
 
there are freshwater clams that will do a great job filtering crap in your tank (LITERALLY). the problem is its hard to keep them alive since most tanks dont have enough micro detritus to feed the clams properly.
 
Yes, and also, many clams burrow themselves into the substrate, which means that when they die, you may not know, and even if you do know, it will be difficult to find them. They will foul up the water if their death goes unnoticed.
