KCl works just fine for an additional source of pottassium. Its made for human consumption and a good source for plant water (according to the bag), so it should work just fine for an aquarium. I like the fact that there's little NaCl (ie. salt) in it, so I won't be putting in unneeded tablesalt into my tank.
