Clarkii Clown tankmates

I just got a clarkii clown. I was wondering if i could put a goby and a wrasse with it. Are they aggresive or not? I will probably be getting some other fish too like a chromis. The tank is 20 gallons.

I tried to get a pic of it but my camera blurs the pics everytime i try to take one of it.
 
what kind of wrasse you thinking about? I have a 6 line wrasse with my Maroon Clown and they are fine together. But I would consider putting to many fish in a 6 gallon... Clarkii's get fairly big, a large female can get 5 to 6" long. If it is small now and hasn't had a sex change yet it probably won't get that big unless you put another Clarkii in with it.

Can't help you with the Goby's, don't know a whole lot about them, never cared for them.
 
A six line is probably going to be the one. It seems to be the most popualr among nano reefs from what i have read. The tank is 20 gallons, not 6 unless i misunderstood you.

In my 200 reef I have a Clarki, Damsel, Mandarin Goby, small yellow damsel, and a Royal Gramma. The clarki chases all these fish away. Half the tank is his. The smaller Royal Gramma stands up to him the best and seems to like to tease him some. So I am just guessing that there is a high likelyhood of problems in your 20 with the Clarki and any other fish. Damsels are also supposed to be highly territorial and protective, but mine are very mellow. The Damsel and Royal Gramma are like buds. So anything can happen and things can change over time. Maybe you could trade the Clarki for something else. This is just my 2 cents. You know I just really like this Royal Gramma.
 
A buddy of mine has a 20 Long , soon to be 55 long, with a Niger Trigger, Volitan Lion, Dragon Wrasse, Clarki clown, Tomato clown...

they are all baby fish but seem to get along fine, no tail nips or n e thing. In actuality all the fish are mean as hell... but thats just my opinion.. That Dragon has evil in its eyes... but they all get along, Only thing i have noticed is Clarki clowns dont like Percula's ehhe... mine wanted to get that sucka in the bag.. and i knew then he wasnt going in that tank... Wrasses are lively cool fish but I would go with something maybe a little less agressive. Get a Blue Regal or something of that sort...
 
Blue Hippo Tangs are way out of the question. They require a 5 foot minimum tank. I would say leave the Clarkii alone in the 20. He will be far too aggressive for any other tankmates in that size tank. Just my opinion. Hope this helps.

This is a disaster waiting to happen, even in a 55. Please do not recommend that others follow this trail of doom. The clowns are the ONLY fish that should be in a 20, and they should not be mixed in a 20.

I would say leave the Clarkii alone in the 20. He will be far too aggressive for any other tankmates in that size tank. Just my opinion. Hope this helps.

Im thinking that after im done aquascaping with all the rocks, there will be a lot of places to hide and make a territory for other fish. Also the corals with provide more shelter. I am still going to be cautious with what i put in with it. Fish like gobies i thought would be good because they mainly stay in all of the rocks and dont swm around in the middle to often.

Good thinking Andy. Consider also a Yellow Tail Damsel. Unlike other Damsels, that eventually just SUCK, Yellowtails are calm, gentle tankmates usually. They hide and dart in and out of the rockwork. I have one with a Maroon clown in a 29 and he's a favorite.

LT1, please refrain from making those kind of suggestions to people trying to get started on the right foot. A stocking like you described in anything less than a 200g tank is destined for catastrophe. The clowns will soon be chow, the trigger will destrot any and all cleaning crews, the lion will soon be so big you won't be able to get a hand in the tank and the wrasse, well, you said it best, "That Dragon has evil in its eyes.."

Suggesting any of those fish, with the exception of the clowns IF he didn't already have a clown, is irresponsible..
