My good independent LFS (hate those chain stores) finally got in some happy healthy looking German Blue Rams. 2 of them have found a new home in my aquarium! They will make a spectacular edition to the tank.

german blues seems to like a more acidic ph. I'm at 7.0. Is it neccesary to alter this? I know messing with ph can be...well...messy

My pH stays around 7.8 and my pair of rams are happy and healthy. It depends on the ram.

You'll enjoy your rams so much! Aside from their striking look they really have quite the personalities. Every time I am peering into my tank my female comes over to say hello, and when my hand is in the tank she comes and says hello, and if I cup my hand she'll even swim in and hang out for a bit.

Ok, Mr. Gourami seems to be chasing them around a little bit. do you think this will settle down? Or should i rearrange the tank?

I think it's just pecking order establishment.

well, the little german blue bit the dust tonight. He wasn't looking all that good I guess. My other one is much larger and active and even started eating my cory's tropical wafers! So i t hink he'll be ok. Time to take another trip to the petstore for an exchange.

its not rare for them to pass, they're pretty sensitive

good luck with the larger one :)
