Cleaner shrimp

Every time I put my hand in the tank my cleaner shrimp swarms all over me looking for stuff to clean I guess. Is my dude just very industrious or do they all do this?

mine does this also just checking out the new stuff in his tank

Mine does the same thing, believe it is indicative of the cleaner shrimp.

your hand probably has more bacteria and parasites on it than in the entire tank, humans are filthy

My skunk cleaner will do that if I put my hand close to him, but my fire shrimp won't, and I'm glad since he's bulkier and creeps me out.

Pretty much universal. I have had all of the Lysmata spp. shrimps do this, as well as cleaner wrasses.

Same here:grinyes: Have to admit my cleaner wrasse made me jump when he did it for the first time!
