We are breaking down and cleaning a 10 gallon tank. The molly we had died recently and we believe it had ICK or something like that.

How should I clean this tank? We are going to replace the gravel and use it to rehome a few small feeder goldfish.

The pet store told us to use a little bleach in water to clean it and let it sit for 48 hours with the bleach.

IMO the best way to clean the tank would be to use reg water, wash out the gravel , walls etc.How long do u plan on keeping the tank before adding in new fish?Ich protozoans need hosts to sustain and multiply itself, so lack of host= decline in protozoan population, would slo raise the tank temperature to around 82 degrees

1 part bleach to 20 parts water is what I've heard. Scrub it down well, then let it sit dry for a few days. The next time to you fill it, put in a little extra Prime or other conditioner to make sure to handle any bleach residue.
