I'm going to pickup a used tank later, whats the best way to clean it? Will just hot water do?

Hot water and vinegar is the best. Lots of elbow grease.
Do not use soap of any kind as it would be very difficult to get it out.

Thanks! Yeah I know about the no soap, just wanted to know if there was something I can use to help clean it better other than just water.

You should wash it out (after you have scrubbed it) with a bleach solution (1 part bleach to 10 parts water) to make sure there are no little nasties hanging on in there.

Check the silicon carefully and if there are any splits, rips or bubbles then I'd recommend you replace it, the tank I had to clean had lots of algae under the silicon but that's another thread :P

alcohol also can be used... the cholrine remover you use will take cre of any bleach left in the tank after rinsing it
