Cleaning algae off a plant

It's been a few days and there's been no change beyond oringinal turning pink. There are still quite a few bubbles so I don't know if all the peroxide is gone at this point or not, but regardless the algae is still there. It's still very secure as well. I'm going to move on to phase 2. I know bleach will kill anything.. but It's not just the leaves that need to be cleansed. I'm going to overdose some excel for the next few days and see what happens.

It's a 2.5gal tank only filled up 2/3rd of the way. How much should I excel should I use? Says to start use 5ml per 10gal, then use 5ml for every 50 gal. I'd probably add about 4-5ml, then 2ml for the following treatments. Anyone have anything to suggest for excel?

Pictures, they look about the same as yesterday except the tank was moved around.

I was following what I read about peroxide and in that story it was one dose and 3 days later all was peachy.

Looking at the before and after pictures it's done something, just the really thick tufts of algae are still around. I wonder if it's still alive.
 
It was still pretty bubbly for a few days actually. I thought it would have been completely reduced by the evening I added it, but it seemed to last much longer than I expected. This is/was like day 3 with the tank in front of the window so I imagine it's all water now.

Anyway I added 3ml of excel. There are bubbles EVERYWHERE. I'm going to keep up that dose every day. Friday I'm leaving town so we'll see what happens before then. Here's a picture of the bubbles.

Day after excel. Everything looked foggy around the anubias. I shook the leaves and it all moved away. Most of the algae is gone, I suspect the gross stuff was decaying algae.

It's all not gone as can be seen in the pictures. The water was narsty so I changed it out and reoverdosed excel. The anubias still seems to be alive as far as I can tell.

I can pinch it off, but that's not particularly effective. Some places are still really covered, like one of 2 stems and there's really spaced out single strands along the top of a few of the leaves. Rubbing doesn't do much, if it did then I'd call the experiment over.

It's really surprising how attached the algae is to the plant, even after 4-5 days in toxic water it's still holding on.
 
The algae is gone, but so are all the leaves but 2 for each plant. The leaves that had no algae on them at all are fine, all the rest fell off, or were visibly rotted when I lifted the plants out of the water.

I've been gone since Friday morning. I hope the plant can regrow, I see one new leave starting to grow so I have hope. I'm going to clean out the 2.5 gal and give them some normal water to live in before I leave again today. As long as the plants survive I'll consider this a success, but I'll have to wait and see.
