Cleaning Betta tank?

Hi, I'm new to fish. I've only had my Betta for about a week and a half. I have done one water change where I replaced about 50% of the water.

I have an UGF in a 2 gallon plastic hexagon tank. How often should I clean the tank and how do I go about cleaning it?

Since the tank is quite small I would do twice a week water changes of about 25% or so. If the betta is by himself there should not be a problem.

If possible I would get a small siphon tube, they sell them at most fish stores. This will allow you to clean the gravel once a week as well which will keep the UGF from getting clogged up with gunk.

You never want to clean out the whole tank.
