I just got back from the LFS. They had gotten a shipment a few days ago, so I took a look around. I was suprised to see 2 old favorates: yoyo loach and farowella stick catfish. The yoyos that would be $7-$10 at the other store were only $1.99 each. they were healthy but were only 1"-1.75" long. . I took the 4 they had and saved $20-$32 on them. then I saw a masive 6" farowella. it was free after giving the owner the 4 convicts and helping him identify his african cichlids. I will put them in the cichlid 55. I think the yoyos will do alright since botias are quit togh and placed with africans often, while still usually having a community behavior. I am not sure about the twig cat but I can not put it in the other 55 because that is the family tank and enough of my fish are already in it. Besides my BP is pretty community along with the sevrum, the green terror is not that aggresive and the JD is only about an inch. What do you think? also would the horsehead or dojo loach from the other tank work in the cichlid tank?

I think I just found the algae eater my Loach/Birchir tank needed..Thanks!

As for your question...What i've read so far after seeing the name says to keep with quiet, peaceful fish.I wouldn't put him with the GT or JD,they might not be aggressive right now but from what I understand they can get pretty aggressive.

But I'm no expert..I really wanted to thank you for the idea and didn't want to look like I was just posting off topic.

From http://www.scotcat.com/factsheets/farlowella_acus.htm

As this is a very timid species, if housed with other inhabitants you would be better keeping away from boisterous fish such as some of the Barb species (such as tigers) and definately Cichlids. Better companions would be the unobstrusive Corydoras species and small Characins or Rasboras.

If you want stick cats then they are community, look good, are almost always cleaning the glass, and they do not have the waste problem that you get with plecos. I was wrong about the yoyo loach. Even though they can take the aggresion, I overlooked the "simaliar size " rule. I saw them take them as feeders and had to evacuate them to the lower tank. They left the farowella alone as they went on the hunt but he has been breathing heavily since he was baged.

I just relocated the twig to the community. Mom already knows about the yoyos but I sliped the twig without her knowing.

Alright, I edited it into my sig. 1 yoyo was not able to be saved, but hopefully is alive and hidden. From that website it looks like I have a farlowella gracilis. Do you think The dojos or the horsehead would work in the cichlid tank?
