Would it be okay if I just took out the driftwood that my flame moss is attached to, and rinsed it under sink water? I use the python to try and get all the dirt out of it, but I feel like it doesn't do that good of a job. I'd rather just yank it out every once in a while, and rinse it really well. Or, I could use a bucket with treated water.

Either way would be fine. I use to have a moss wall that I had the same problem with. I took the whole thing out of the tank a couple times and rinsed all the gunk out of it in the sink. I finally got tired of it and tossed the whole thing out.
I put a powerhead near my wall and it helped a bit. But in the long run it was too much of a pain. Your right,when clean,they look awesome. But keeping them clean is the hard part.
Whatever you do,taking the whole thing out and rinsing it off under the sink,or in a bucket with treated water should be fine.

Attemping to post rather than lurk
I've never really had a problem with my moss being dirty. I just swish it around in water to clean it.
The driftwood my moss is on is inconvenient and messy to remove 'cause of all the plants and my kuhlis live under it and it never goes back in the same exact position it was in before I grab it. So, I baste it.
If I could I'd just swish it around in a bowl of tap water. Brief exposure to tap water won't hurt the moss.
