Cleaning Silk Plants

I've got Tinfoil Barbs that prevent me rom keeping live plants so I'm using silk.
Unfortunately, they eventually aquire a dark algae of some kind that is very hard to remove. What's the best way to clean them? Can I use a weak bleach solution or might that leave residual chlorine?

Take em out nand scrub them, that or get a alge eating fish like a SAE or some cory's.
