Cleaning the gravel.

Okay, don't think I'm a retard or anything, but is there anyway to clean the gravel of a tank without using a vacuum?

I have a 5.5g tank with one betta & six little snails and they are all very healthy and happy. When I do my 20% water changes a lot of crap comes floating up from the gravel. I think a good portion of the crap gets sucked into the filter, but there's always more where that comes from.

I don't even know what one of these aquarium vacuum looks like, but if need be I will get one...unless you guys have a better idea.

just take the siphon ur using, and hover it over the gravel, any loss deitrus will get picked up.

You're best with the syphon. It takes only a few minutes with your sized tank. The only other way would be to remove the gravel and rinse it, but that would not be good. Also the syphon can get down into the gravel and clean stuff that sank deep in...and you can aerate it so it doesn't smell with anaerobic bacteria.
