Hi!!! Im pretty new to keeping fish, and need some help pretty please =) Ok so I have a 55 gall that has been cycled for bout a month, all is perfect.....except for this "snow globe" buisness going on inside my tank!!! Its making me crazy, the water is crystal clear with white particles floating alllllll over! Idk what to do! They dont seem to be bugs or food/poo particles, at first I thought they were tiny little bubbles, but theyre not. Should I try a water clarifier? Ive read about filter floss? Idk what that is.....Any suggestions would be absolutely wonderful & very appreciated! Thank you soooo much =)

Are you sure they're not bubbles? I had a micro bubbler problem, and snowglobe is exactly how I would have described it. I fixed it by raising three water level and tinkering with three filter outflow.
If it its not bubbles, then filter floss or polishing pad would be your best bet. What kind of filter are you using?

Same here. My faucet puts out micro bubbles when I fill with buckets. But eventually they dissipate. I remember when I first started having an issue like that but it wasnt micro bubbles. I upgraded my filter to an aquaclear 30 (10g tank) and it went away. So I would say get filter floss or a polishing pad.

PS--Change that Font. Very hard on old eyes.

I have a similar problem...for me, I'm 99% positive it's mostly just the reeeeeeally fine bits of sand. My goldies will look for food on the bottom, get some sand in their mouths and spit it out wherever and whenever they feel like, sometimes at the higher levels of the tank. The heavier sand sinks back down but the finest sand stays floating. Then it gets pushed around by the filters and doesnt settle back down for a while, and of course my fish are always spitting more out. I've pretty much resigned to it and just get out what I can in water changes.

Besides regularly using filter floss, replaced every 2 or 3 weeks, try using a fine mesh pre-filter sponge on your filter intake tube, rinsed frequently, and bagged Purigen in your filter, re-charged every 3 weeks or so.
Presto - crystal clear water !

Do micro bubbles stay suspended in water when u turn off filter? That's what the little specks do...i called my fish guy and he had me put filter floss in behind my filters. So i guess time will tell if it works or not! Thank you I really appreciate all yall's help =)

They shouldnt. Hope the filter floss works. If not try purigen, it seems to be working for me.
