clorox clean-up?

yeah, its ok to use... just like any other cleaning product make sure u rinse it out thoroughly before you set it up with fish and whatnot. bleach kills fish fast, i learned the hard way.

i was asking because there are other ingredients in it too-but silly me...if you can clean with bleach-i guess you can clean with just about anything.
...or is that totally wrong? i have actually never cleaned with bleach before-i use environmentally friendly soap:)...somehow it feels safer to me

Clorox is the bleach that I use, assuming you are using clorox liquid bleach and not clorox II, I have never had issue with it, and it will rinse fairly well, and can be neutralized with dechlorinator etc. The only thing I would watch is soaking of pourous items like driftwood, if you let the bleach soak in for a long time you will need to let the chlorine gas off for a long time as well. I clean all of my rocks with clorox, have dipped my plants and plastic decor, and have cleaned empty tanks with it as well.

What are the other ingredients in the chlorox clean stuff?

I use bleach all the time to clean tank stuff but it is just bleach, not other stuff added to it. If the stuff you are using as any soap products in it i woudlnt' use it. That will make it harder to rinse out and make sure no residue is left.

Probably sodium hydroxide (NaOH). It's a fairly common additive in bleach based cleaners. It's very strongly basic, so be sure to rinse very well. Most of the chlorine will evaporate with time and be neutralized by dechlorinator, not so the hydroxide. It needs rinsing to clean out. Acid could neutralize it, but it's never a good idea to mix bleach with acid. Gives off Chlorine gas.

Just for information. I have gotten away from using bleach and changed to OxiClean powder. It works just as well and is a whole lot easier to clean out. You don't have to let it set very long either as I cleaned 10 of my old tanks in less than an hour.
