Cloudy tank, how do i get crystal clear??

I use this, as long as it's not biological it'll clear up in about an hour or 2.

JH i saw that at the lfs and didnt pick it up. I'll stop by and get it to test it out. I really dont feel like doing a 50 percent water change after i just did a 30 percent. TOo much water changes. Ill clean the glass and try that out and post back afterwards

If you have an HOB filter (or can even borrow one from another tank for a few days), I'd put a piece of nylon stocking (pantyhose) over the filter element, then use a small dose of crystal clear. you'd be amazed what settles out. Pantyhose may well be clogged by morning...rinse and let it go another day.

I've used it for a while now and never had any problems. When you first add it the water will start to cloud up, it takes all the particulates that are too small for the filter to grab, and bonds them together, making them get caught in your filter. Hope it works out for you :grinyes:

Smart idea about the panty hose idea. And yes i thought my hob wasnt working great but when i went to change the cartridge it was full of sludge ughh i dont even want to imagine what that was. sooo i'll be testing this product

Not sure what HOB you have...but...just remove the filter media and put pantyhose over the frame. If it's really nasty in the morning...replace it...it's cheap! (free if you have a source ) :)

ahhhhh yes, the clogged filter. I had the same problem a good couple of weeks ago, and thank goodness for a bio pad. the wool aspect had almost completly clogged, had to replace. Well after replacing that it wasn't long till I had crystal clear water :)

The aquarium is finally crystal clear but i had to do a 30 percent water change then clean the tank real well. then put in the clean water and then add the crystal clear additive. I also noticed i had my tank too full to the top to prevent water flow for the hob and now iit has improved

What are your water parameters are you using a good filtration system and are you changing your filter as needed. Also are you gravel vaccuuming when you do a wc?

My tank went cloudy I think it was because maybe I didn't wash my gravel enough but I washed my gravel and even let it sit in water for a days. SO I think it was a bacteria bloom or maybe it wasn't proper filteration. Because after I added another filter it cleared up within hours. I have UGF, which I hate it's soo bloody noisey and so I added my filter on from my 10 gall even though it's a 29, and it cleared up.. was soo happy.
