Anyone heard of it? They are tablets...my friend that works at petco gave it to me to clear my tank of ich and claimed its reef safe...killed BOTH my cleaner shrimps within the hour...I am SO angry! :mad2:

Here are the ingredients based on research:
trichlorfon
malachite green
hydroxychloroquine

Trichlorfon, for one, is used against invertebrate parasites such as fish lice in freshwater. Now, this one will explain why it may not be considered reef-safe especially those meds containing copper sulfate.

ah jeez...first that and also i got a lemon peel angel today and he terrorized my kole tang and stole his house...i'm gonna have a dandy time getting him out tomorrow...i am just ready to give up at times...

I would like you to ask your friend what makes him think that Clout is reef-safe. If he has been babbling about it to his customers, then I would like to hear if any of his customers complained although I would expect he won't talk about it honestly.

mcsassy...don't give up. There are lots of frustrating times in this hobby, but it really is more of a passion/addiction. Yu just have to remember that it is a temporary setback and that you are sharing your information with everyone here which makes us all better saltwate aquarists. It is most unfortunate that you trusted your friend regarding the matter of the CLOUT, but like everything is this hobby we have to read, re-read and research before doing. I have learned that too many times. Hang in there, a beautiful reef tank is worth all the frustration.

Slow down..................you'll enjoy the hobby more.
I would not be adding fish till i had resolved all my other probs.
Not getting on at you just the way of the salty. Excellence takes time.
Hope you get things sorted.

Thanks for the support...i put a bag of carbon in today to try to suck out any remains of medicine that may still be in the tank...how long should i leave it for? Oh and i got the lemon peel out too...without moving any rocks out!!! I had 4 nets in the tank though working it. I returned the lemon peel and in exchange to a cleaner and a fire shrimp. The fire shrimp found himself a cave and is not budging out of there and the cleaner is hanging out in the corner of the tank for some reason...hopefully he will make a station on the LR.

I hope you did some large water changes and have been running the carbon for a while before adding the shrimp, if the medication killed off your two shrimp earlier and there is still some in the system then it could easily kill the new additions

They are fine...the skimmer and the carbon flushed it out totally. Thank you.
