What is your light? Do you dose ferts? Pressurized CO2? All play a part in deciding what cover to try.

55 gallon will be using 48" shoplight with 2 ge aquarium/plant bulbs

Marsilea (crenata or quadrifolia) should grow with your light level. Very slow growers but relatively easy to maintain.

plant it sparsely..it grow by runners....after being simmersed, the clover will turn into single ovate leaves, and will kind of represent glosso, only a slower grower. Break off each leaf at the stem and plant like a plantlet. It will root and send off runners to cover the foreground.

What is the scientific name of that plant? Which one of the marselea is it?
